When a tooth sustains a crack, extensive decay, or other significant damage, Dr. Patel may recommend a crown. Designed to fit over a compromised tooth, a crown restores shape and stability. Dr. Patel places porcelain crowns whenever possible because these restorations offer a solid, attractive repair, but your back teeth may require porcelain-fused-to-metal or gold crowns.
Thanks to CEREC, we can create porcelain crowns, inlays, and onlays in one dental visit instead of two. During your visit, Dr. Patel will generate a 3-D rendering of your tooth and use the CEREC machine to fabricate your custom restoration while you wait. Patients no longer face the hassle of temporary crowns or additional appointments. CEREC crowns don’t work for every situation, but we will evaluate your case and advise you of the best option.
