Invisalign is a great way to get your teeth straight without the appearance of metal braces.
What are the steps in invisalign?
Your intial complimentary consultation with Dr. Patel will begin by taking the time to listen to what your goals for invisalign treatmentconsist of. From there a through visual exam will be performed to determine you are a good candidate for invisalign treatment. Once Dr. Patel decides your situation is suitable for Invisalign treatment, a treatment plan will be mapped out with your goals in mind. Then, impressions and pictures of your teeth will be taken for digitization purposes.
The impressions of your teeth are then sent to Invisalign and digitally scanned into the computer. This digital scan is then sent to Dentistry at East Piedmont where Dr. Patel will customize a treatment plan to achieve the desired estethic outcome.
Once the Treatment Plan has been sent by Dr. Patel, custom aligners are created by CAD/CAM technology. These aligners are changed out about once every two weeks. Average treatment time for invisalign is 18 months. This is an example of what the tray looks like. Most people won't even be able to tell you are wearing your invisalign trays.
You should wear your aligners at all times, with the exception of eating and drinking, in order to complete your treatment in the timeline determined by you and your doctor. You'll go in for occasional checkups, to monitor your progress and to receive your next set of aligners. During the entire treatment process, you'll be able to watch your teeth gradually moving into place. Your smile will, little by little, move into something you'd like to show off. The people around you will be sure to notice your new-found confidence.
